The best day to send an email…
You know the saying “the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago”?
Well the best day to send an email is yesterday.
The second best time is right freaking now.
I know it doesn’t have the same ring…
But here’s my point.
I talk to people all the time who ask really nuanced questions like:
- “Whats the best day to send an email?”
- “How many characters should I use in my subject line?”
- “Should I use a button link or a text link?”
My answer is always the same.
Which ever one you can send today.
Truth is…I want you to send whatever you can with whatever you’ve got.
Reason being?
Data.
You can’t know what works and what doesn’t for your list until you actually send some emails.
When you’ve got a strategy and you’re sticking to it, it’s time to start worrying about the nuances.
First though, just get consistent.
Send a lot of emails. Try a lot of stuff. Get a lot of feedback.
Then look at the data and see what hit (and what didn’t).
If you’re stuck with consistency, or ideas, or strategy….
Email Express Lane is where you can find it.
February templates drop on Thursday (!) and as always, we’ve got accountability and strategy built it. it’s another opportunity to build consistency and get more data (and more sales).
Let’s make February the month you hit send.

P.S. In January, I hosted Lianna Patch in a workshop about Welcome Emails and how to use humor to disarm your subscribers. When you join EEL, you get access to that and all back templates of Email Express Lane.
P.P.S. Starting Feb 1 (Thursday), Gmail and Yahoo are sending people to the spam folder if they don’t have their email set up the right way. I posted a tutorial for EEL members so they could take care of it themselves in about 15 mins. (Members can click here to check it out.)
